Matcha Cupcakes with Frosting

Matcha Cupcakes with Frosting
These mini matcha cakes couldn’t be easier to make!

Makes 8 to 10

1 200-gram package butter cake mix
1 1/2 tablespoons matcha powder

For the matcha frosting
1/2 cup butter
4 tablespoons cream
1 tablespoon matcha powder
2 1/4 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar
matcha powder for dusting

1  Prepare butter cake mix (we used Maya Oven Toaster Butter Cake Mix) according to package directions.

2  Add matcha powder to the batter and mix well.

3  Fill each muffin cup with batter until two-thirds full. Bake according to package directions.

4  Make the frosting: Using an electric mixer, beat butter with cream. Add matcha powder and sifted confectioners’ sugar; beat until smooth. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes. Dust with matcha powder, if desired.
